Reeder iPhone App

Here's another great app that I nearly didn't buy. I use Google Reader and subscribe to about 20+ gadget and tech news RSS feeds such as Engadget, Gizmodo, Mashable to name a few. Through reading tech news "Reeder" kept coming up as the single best RSS feed reader for the iPhone. It cost me £1.79.

Am I disappointed with my purchase? No I am not. It is genuinely excellent. Really well thought out and does what it needs to do very cleanly, stylishly and simply. I can consume great amounts of news very quickly and easily with this app.

Why did I nearly not buy it? Simply because I was using Google Reader on my iPhone via the Google Mobile App. Essentially this just launches Google Reader in Safari on the iPhone. It works just fine and allows me to do what I need pretty much. However Reeder is so much nicer, more polished. What can I say? I'm really happy with it and would strongly recommend it to fellow RSS subscribers as an ideal product.

Post comments to let me know if you have this already and what you think of it? or if you buy it on the strength of my recommendation let me know your thoughts?

Angry Birds

I've been meaning to blog about this iPhone game for ages. I kept seeing it in the App Store and taking a quick look at the screen shots and the reviews. Despite it being number 1 game I just felt it wasn't going to be something I'd like. However so many people at work urged me to get it and said I'd love it that I took the plunge and spent my 59p.

I have to say it's fantastically addictive. I mean seriously addictive!! You thought Doodle Jump was addictive but it's got nothing on this game. You pop on meaning to spend 5 minutes having a quick go but 1.5 hours later when your wife is getting really ticked off that you STILL have your head in your phone you reluctantly put it down. It's that addictive. Buy it today provided you have time on your hands. If your life is busy then maybe don't buy it cos it will take over ALL of your free time.
